The Low Down
OK, so we have talked about the Reverse Martingale, and The Standard Martingale, and even the Super Martingale in this site, which is a super charged version of this ever popular negative progression system.

But there is an even more turbocharged Martingale variant called the Triple Martingale, in which you triple bets after a loss, rather than double them (ouch!)

So, whereas a Standard Martingale progression might go something like this:
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128.
The Triple Martingale ramps up like like this:

1, 3, 9, 27, 81, 243.

The betting curve is even steeper! This is a high risk system. If you are betting the even money bets (such as red/black), then of course if you do win at some point in the sequence (for your sake I hope it is early), then you are going to claw back your losses AND make more profit than you would on a standard Marty. Even so, the betting ramps up like a maniac, so make sure you have a fixed upper bet limit above which you DO NOT GO. If you are going to play this system, you must be very disciplined.

The Triple Martingale is often played on columns or dozens, where you bet 2 out of the 3 columns or dozens, thereby covering a little under 2/3 of the table (remember there's a zero- always play European Roulette- on e zero is enough). This system is also known as the Cubic Martingale.

Betting Dozens or Columns. Here's How
Bet on 2 of the 3 dozens or columns- and you’ll get a return of 2 to 1, if your bet comes in. If you start with 4 and bet 2 on each dozen and your number comes in on one of the dozens, you’ll bag 4 plus your original bet of 2, which make 6. If you lose, you'll be 4 down of course.

Now, if you play the Triple Martingale, you'll bet 6 on each column after that first loss, so a total of 12. If you win, you'll be 12 up, (with a pot of 18 including your bet) which covers your loss from the previous round, and some. If you had played the Standard Martingale, you have bet 4 on each column, so a total of 8. A win would have meant a win of 8 and a pot of 12

It is even more important in the Triple Martingale to start your progression low so that you give yourself a good clear space for increasing bets after a loss and stop after a maximum of 4 losses (unless you are feeling very brave). Be disciplined with this- it can wipe you out quickly. And play short sessions. Don't get greedy.

Even though you have 65% of the table covered (or just under actually- remember the zero pocket), it is still perfectly possible (statistically speaking) that you will hit the 35% of the table you are trying to stay clear of more than four times in a row. That's just probability for you. So we would only use this as a “hit and run” strategy, where you keep your sessions short and get the hell off the table if you hit your profit target. on. You can always test this on a free account first- in fact we'd highly recommend that you do.

Proceed with Caution! The best roulette variant online for the Martingale? We'd say Premier Roulette (play a free demo here - it has a x2 double your last bet option that is perfect for Martingale players), or play the variant at Royal Vegas with 20 free spins and £/$/€ 1200 Free..
